What's New for the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD?

The 2022 Silverado HD is at its best yet with over 36,000 pounds of towing power with the 3500 HD and more than 18,000 pounds with the 2500 HD. The Silverado HD is also more stylish this year than before, with the option of getting your truck in a new green paint color. Always a work-ready truck, the Silverado HD can now be equipped with a Multi-Function tailgate, which makes it the first truck in its class to offer that feature. Along with this package of conveniences shared across the lineup, the Silverado HD also has some new trim-specific features for the Custom trim.

2022 Silverado HD Trims and Features

The Chevy Silverado HD 2500 and 3500 is called the Work Truck (WT). The Work Truck in the 2500 HD can be ordered in three body styles. Black trim detail and black bumpers give it a distinguished look. The base model comes with trailering equipment and mirrors. Vinyl covers the seats, and climate control is included. The base trim's technology package includes Bluetooth pairing, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a seven-inch touchscreen. The WT in the 3500 HD also has dual USB ports and a split-folding rear seat. The second trim is the Custom in the 2500, which has cloth upholstery and remote start. The LT is available in both the 2500 HD and the 3500 HD. The LT gets a larger eight-inch display. It has chrome bumpers and heated mirrors for a more stylish and functional appearance. WiFi is also standard. Following the LT is the LTZ. More chrome comes with the LTZ, which also has LED headlights and fog lights. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are also included, and you'll get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The top two trims also have leather seats-the High Country upgrades to a power tailgate and all-terrain tires. A premium infotainment system is also included.

2022 Chevy Silverado Horsepower

The standard engine powering the 2500 HD is a 6.6L V8. The truck gets about 400 HP and close to 470 LB-FT in torque with this engine connected to an automatic 10-speed transmission. A turbo 6.6L V8 engine is available with a boost in power to 445 HP. A diesel V8 is offered for the 3500 HD with the same power output. Four-wheel drive is available for most trims, and rear-wheel drive is standard. The 2500 tows up to 18,510 pounds, and the 3500 HD can tow 36,000 pounds.

All trims of the Silverado HD come with trailering mirrors and trailer safety equipment. A camera with panoramic views is available, along with rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking assist, and lane change alert.
