Specs at a Glance

In this Chevrolet Silverado HD vs. LTD comparison review, we will cover the differences between the two. Both are excellent full-size trucks, but which one is the right choice for you? While the Silverado HD is an ideal workhorse and tow vehicle, some features of the fully loaded, $60k+ Limited may make it worth the extra cost.

Performance

These trucks come with impressive performance features that allow for a smooth, fun ride. The Silverado HD comes with a standard 6.6-liter V8 engine that generates 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission that delivers power to the rear wheels or all four wheels if desired. You can also opt for the available Duramax 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8 engine with 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque.

The Limited also comes with a 6.6-liter V8 engine, but this engine provides only 400 horsepower and 1,000 lb-ft of torque. When equipped with this engine, you will access the 10-speed automatic transmission that allows for smooth shifting at high speeds.

Appearance

The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado HD wears large headlights, a muscular grille, and an aggressive front bumper as standard equipment. The Z71 package upgrades the Silverado's appearance with off-road tires, a chrome grille guard, black fender flares, and decals on the side mirrors. The High Country trim adds leather seats, wood accents, and unique 20-inch wheels to distinguish itself from the rest of the lineup.

Features

The 2022 Silverado HD is offered in Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country trim levels. All but the Work Truck can be had as a single- or dual-rear-wheel pickup. The Work Truck can be ordered as a regular cab with an 8-foot bed, a double cab with an 8-foot bed, or a crew cab with a 6.5-foot bed.

The Custom is available only as a crew cab with either bed length, while the LT and LTZ are offered as regular cabs only with an 8-foot bed. The High Country trim is available only as a crew cab but can be had with either bed length.
