What's New for the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro?

Matched with its competition, the Ford Mustang, and the Dodge Challenger, the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro is a rear-wheel drive sports car that packs a lot of features into its current model. This year will see some updates to the interior and exterior, though the concept will remain pretty much the same. Expect a few new color schemes inside and outside the Camaro for 2022. Chevrolet also opted to discontinue their 1LE Track Performance Package.

2022 Chevrolet Camaro Trims & Features

There are a few different trim levels available for the 2022 Chevy Camaro and two different body styles. This includes the coupe and convertible. The base model is the 1LS, and you can also choose from the 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1, 1SS, and 2SS. If you're looking for a sports car to the max, we recommend the higher trim levels for power and performance. The lower level trim levels are plenty adequate, including features like keyless entry, exceptional safety features, and a rearview camera. If you want the V8 engine, you'll have to select the LT1, SS, or ZL1 trim levels.

2022 Chevrolet Camaro Horsepower

Chevy is not making any changes to the Camaro's powertrain this year. There will be three different engine options available, with the V8 being the top-of-the-line. The base engine inclusion is a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that is standard with the 1LS, 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT trim levels. It provides 275 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, and a six-speed automatic transmission. You can upgrade your vehicle to include an eight-speed automatic transmission if you desire. In the middle of the engine options is a 3.6-liter V6 engine that achieves 335 horsepower and 284 pound-feet of torque. It's available for the 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT.

2022 Chevrolet Camaro Safety

The 2022 Chevy Camaro has received a five-out-of-five star safety rating from the NHTSA. Standard safety features included in this model are lane keep assist technology, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alerts, a front collision warning system, a tire pressure monitoring system, and OnStar connectivity.
