What's New For the 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe?

The Chevrolet Tahoe is a full-size SUV model that has been in production alongside the GMC Yukon, by General Motors since 1994. The Tahoe now sits in its fourth generation, where it has been since the 2015 model year. Unfortunately, in the last couple of years, there haven't been any notable changes to the Chevrolet Tahoe. This is due, in large part, to the fact that the 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe will be the last of the fourth-generation Tahoe, meaning an all-new Chevrolet Tahoe is coming for the 2021 model year. Thankfully, despite remaining largely the same over the last few years, the Tahoe remains amongst the best models of its class.

2020 Chevrolet Tahoe Interior

2020 Chevy Tahoe Has Abundant Features

Every Chevrolet Tahoe in 2020 comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone integration, Bluetooth, HD radio, satellite radio, USB ports, and more. As you move up the trim hierarchy, which includes three trim levels, additional features become available such as an upgraded 10-inch touchscreen display, leather trim pieces throughout the interior, heated and ventilated seats, a premium sound system, a back seat DVD player, and more. This model has an extremely long list of available features to make each drive as comfortable as possible for all passengers.

Chevy Tahoe Performance

2020 Chevrolet TahoeThe base engine for the large Chevrolet Tahoe in 2020 is a massive 5.3-liter V8 engine that is capable of producing up to 355 horsepower. When paired with this engine, the Chevrolet Tahoe gets pretty average fuel economy estimates at 15 city and 22 highway miles per gallon. This engine is suitable for most driving situations. However, for some additional acceleration, you can opt into the 6.2-liter V8 engine that is capable of producing up to 420 horsepower. This engine averages about 14 city and 22 highway miles per gallon, which are also pretty average figures for this class. Given the size of this model, these engines produce an ample amount of power to make each drive smooth, comfortable, and efficient.

Chevrolet Tahoe Safety In the Forefront

2020 Chevrolet TahoeThe Chevrolet Tahoe is amongst the safest models in its class. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe an overall safety score of four out of five. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has yet to conduct its safety tests on this model, but the nearly identical 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe got slightly above average safety score from the IIHS. Every Chevrolet Tahoe comes with the Teen Driver safety system that lets parents or primary drivers set speed and audio parameters, and allows them to monitor the driving performance of secondary drivers.

Additionally, a rearview camera and rear parking sensors are standard safety features for all Chevrolet Tahoes in 2020. As you move up the trim hierarchy, additional advanced safety technology becomes available such as adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, a heads-up display, automated high-beams, automated emergency braking, and more. Any concerns you may have regarding the relatively average safety scores of this model should be alleviated by the long list of available safety features.
