What Makes It Fun
The turbo engine gives you an ample burst of power for daily drivingsmooth overpasses, merging onto highways, and keeping pace in urban trafficall without feeling under-powered.
The FWD setup helps keep things efficient and lighter than AWD versions, which means better fuel economy and lower running costs (with less complexity) if youre mostly driving in mild weather or on paved roads.

3 years later, I finally bought one
By Oakie | on Wednesday, May 01, 2019
I have researched the Tiguan for three years. In 2018, I fell in love with new design. Bought a 2019 SEL Premium 4 Motion R-Line. I wanted to wait till I got some miles on it and months of ownsership before I wrote a review. I have to tell you that I have seen several comments about poor performance. I haven’t experienced it after break in and getting used to stiffer German engineered gas pedal. I was used to it after having a MB C300. Anyway, without using sport mode, I can take off and leave traffic behind at a stop light. Sport mode is even quicker. The ride is nothing short of luxurious, quiet and solid. The stereo (Fender) is as good as my Burmeister was in the MB. Great bass. The seats are magnificent, contour and comfort are great. My 91 year old father loves them too. The digital dash and center display are fantastic, intuitive and very useful. The fit and finish of the car is amazing. As is usual with German cars, everything is over engineered and sturdy. The panoramic sunroof is big, well visible from front seat and dazzling in back seats. The electric sunshade never fails to impress riders. The adaptive LED headlights are bright and impressively capable. The LED corner lights that light up at turn of wheel after slowing are hella bright. I love them and they are truly useful. Overall, the car is super luxurious, fun and steers better than any car I have ever had. Don’t take my word for it as a happy buyer. Take it for a test ride yourself. You’ll be amazed. I must say the fantastic warranty was a plus and for about $1,200, I purchased the additional warranty for 96 months or 120k miles. Best of all, it takes 87 octane regular unleaded ONLY. Says so right on the gas cap. Anyone that has a Tiguan knows what I am saying here is factual. I love mine.… - 5.0
2019 Tiguan SEL 4 MOTION
By Mike | on Thursday, September 19, 2019
I just bought a 2019 VW Tiguan SEL 4MOTION . Black exterior Black Interior. The inside is very sleek techy comfortable and the cabin is quiet when driving. The only gripe I have with this car is the very small low center console and the power of the engine , although it does have a Turbo starting from a green light the power is very minimal. Handles very well and has a quiet smooth ride. Ive never owned a VW before and this is my first and so far I absolutely love it and everyone that has seen it and the few I let drive it , love it.… - 5.0
Great vehicle
By Creek | on Monday, September 09, 2019
This was our first new car in 7 years. We purchased the highest available trim with all the bells and whistles. Pros: Looks great. Higher than advertised fuel economy (driving the speed limit on highway yields about 31 mpg). I love the auto stop feature while sitting at traffic lights. Android Link is great! The car remembers my settings and will automatically adjust my seats according to my key. I love the digital dashboard. Auto high beams and windshield wipers. Lane assist and adaptive cruise control. Cons: The seats are a little firm.…
