Dealer Notes
Bold, Sporty DesignThe Sentra SR brings a more aggressive, athletic look to the compact-sedan world. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and features dark-chrome exterior accents, a rear spoiler, and a sporty body kit.MotorTrend+2CarsDirect+2Its front is dominated by Nissans large V-Motion grille, giving it a more assertive presence reminiscent of Nissans larger sedans.Motor1.comInside, the sport theme continues with cloth or leatherette seats accented by orange contrast stitching, and a leather-wrapped shift knob.CarsDirect+2Auto Trends Magazine+2Nissans design also leans into a floating roof effect, especially on two-tone color schemes (like Monarch Orange/Black), which adds flair and visual appeal.Auto Trends MagazinePerformance & EfficiencyUnder the hood, the 2020 SR uses a 2.0-liter inline-4 engine producing 149 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque.Car and Driver+2MotorTrend+2Its paired with a CVT (continuously variable transmission), tuned for smoothness.MotorTrendFuel economy is solid for a sporty trim: around 28 mpg city / 37 mpg highway / 32 mpg combined.Car and DriverDriving-wise, its not a track beast Motor1 notes that while its power is modest compared to hot hatchbacks, it feels composed and well-mannered.Motor1.comInterior & TechnologyNissan went big on interior upgrades for 2020. The SRs cabin feels premium: soft-touch surfaces, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and a dashboard layout thats both modern and sporty.Motor1.comThe Sentra SR offers Zero Gravity-inspired front seats, designed for longer drives with better support.J.D. PowerTech-wise, depending on options, you can get an 8-inch touchscreen, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (on other trims), plus Nissans full Safety Shield 360 suite (automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, etc.).Carousel Nissan+1On higher-end SR models (with the Premium Package), theres even an 8-speaker Bose audio system, a surround-view camera, heated seats, and a heated steering wheel.Auto Trends Magazine+2CarsDirect+2Safety & HandlingSafety is a strong point: the SR comes with Nissans Intelligent Mobility tech, including standard driver-assist features.Nissan USAThe ride quality is decent: the SRs suspension feels stable and confident, and the independent rear suspension adds a bit more composure than older-generation Sentras.Nissan USAThat said, some reviewers (like on Motor1) mention that the CVT can feel strained when pushing hard, so dont expect sports-car-level punch.Motor1.comWhy Its ExcitingSporty Styling Without Sacrificing Practicality: You get aggressive looks, contrast stitching, and a spoiler but youre still in a compact, efficient sedan.Well-Rounded Tech: Modern safety tech, a good infotainment screen, and available premium audio make it feel more upscale than your typical commuter.Efficient Yet Peppy Enough: While it's not a performance monster, the 2.0L engine hits a sweet spot for daily driving, offering decent power and very good fuel economy.

High-tech, very comfortable, powerful gas saver
By Tony | on Saturday, November 13, 2021
A week ago I bought a Nissan Sentra S trim to save money but realized later it’s loaded with high tech features not available in other base compact car models. The independent multi-link rear suspension gives a very comfortable ride. The powerful 2.0 engine matched with the new improved CVT produces strong, fast, and responsive acceleration. Gave me 41 mpg driving between 65 to 75 mph on I-10 Interstate Highway from San Antonio to Kerrville, Texas Hill Country and vice versa. It’s also a handsome eye-catching car. So far I love the performance and looks of my Nissan Sentra S 2021.… - 5.0
