I never gave Mitsubishi a second thought while looking to get into an economical SUV until I ran across one of their ads. I found the new styling to be pretty slick and liked that it was slightly larger than other compact SUVs. The highlight here is the interior, it's what sold me. It's reminiscent of a luxury brand and its materials and styling. Super happy about this. Some say the engine is a bit underpowered, but for the average driver it feels very responsive and peppy, but do agree that at higher speeds it's a bit reluctant to get going for passing at freeway speeds. After buying the car I had to go on the road trip for work and was very happy with the 30.7 miles per gallon I got with cruise control set around 72 miles an hour on mostly flat highway. The adaptive cruise control made my 3-hour drive easy and pleasant. I was not bothered by things people complain about on the CVT transmission, though it can be a bit jerky at times unless you're smooth on the gas pedal. Third row seat is kind of a joke, but put the seats down and you get more cargo space and that's a win for me. Overall, I love the car. It handles great, gets decent gas mileage and feels much more luxurious than the price tag, even on my SE model. I'm a very happy first time Mitsubishi owner/driver.
    • Great ride, "transformer vehicle!"

This is our 3rd Mitsubishi and we love the 2022 Outlander in the new body style. Previously owned two Monteros that were great family cars, so decided to give the Outlander a try. Needed a larger SUV for our family including two Labradors who sit comfortably together on the third row seat. It's billed as a 7-passenger vehicle; like so many other SUVs, the 3rd row doesn't have leg room for anyone except small kids. That said, the front and middle rows are roomy and very comfortable for long rides. When loading up at the furniture store, an employee asked us where we got the "transformer" car, because it's so flexible and can be arranged any number of ways to accommodate cargo. The interior styling is far above what I expected and the audio system is great, too. Has been very reliable since we got it 2 1/2 years ago. Yes, as some others said, there are a few times when I wish I could "punch the gas" to accelerate in a merge situation, but you just have to give yourself more room -- it's to be expected with the type of engine we knew we were buying. Overall I would buy this again and recommend wholeheartedly.
