Paired to an 8speed automatic transmission that shifts crisply, this powerplant delivers smooth acceleration, especially with its rearwheeldrive setup. You get grip when you want it, drift when you crave it.

Fuel economy is surprisingly reasonable for a muscle car: around 19 mpg in city driving / 30 mpg on the highway under ideal conditions.

Lifestyle & Everyday Usability
Seats five, though the real charm is in the front half: spirited drivers seat, roomy for its class, with enough cargo room (about 16.2 cu ft) for daily needs or weekend getaways.

Drivemodes, traction control, and the rearwheeldrive setup give you controlbut with enough edge to enjoy the power without being overwhelmed. Great for straightline acceleration, good for cruise control, and a blast to hear under throttle.
Its the kind of car that can wake you up on a Saturday morning with exhaust bark, then mellow out on the highway when all you want is to enjoy the ride.
Why It Excites
Its pure muscle with modern polish. You get that nostalgic roar and presence, but tied together with updates that make it liveable daytoday.
Rearwheel drive brings the classic indulgence of oversteer, power slides, and a driveroriented feel.
You dont need a HEMI to have fun. The V6 may not be the loudest, but its lively, nimble enough in its segment, and gives you a more affordable entry into Challenger territory.

The most awesome car in my 40 years of driving.
By Brian | on Saturday, October 19, 2013
My 2014 Challenger R/T is a great combination of looks, performance, features, and comfort. The retro exterior styling was a must for me. The performance was nearly a must and it does not disappoint. The modern features are wonderful. The car is very comfortable (and fun) to drive.… - 5.0
So much better than expected
By Kev | on Wednesday, December 08, 2021
Purchased this vehicle as a daily driver. I have a lengthy daily highway commute so I figured an AWD Challenger would be a nice cruiser. It is! It's comfortable, quick and gets pretty good mileage. What floored me is the reliability. I have NEVER had an issue with this car. NOTHING. It just works. Traction in snow is remarkable. I love the shocked looks from folks when they see a Challenger handling the snow with ease. Heated steering wheel and heated/ventilated seats don't hurt at all. I honestly expected this car to give me headaches. To the contrary, it has been terrific. I would purchase it all over again without hesitation.… - 5.0
I love this car!

This was my mid life crisis car, bright red 2015 Challenger 6 speed manual with 5.7 Hemi. But man, what a wonderful car. I had a 73 340 'Cuda back in the day. This is so much more car! Leather interior is awesome, electronics are awesome. I drove up to Sonoma last weekend. Got 24.3 mpg with a Hemi V-8. Then I drove it at a performance driving course there at the track, hitting 138 mph. Handled great, easily ran with BMW M3s and Porches. Just love this car.…
