Performance & PowertrainThe 2018 Envision Essence FWD is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-4 (SIDI) engine, which produces 197 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque.wardsmotorsports.com+2auto123.com+2It uses a 6-speed automatic transmission with a manual-shift mode, giving a nice balance between smoothness and a bit of driver control.auto123.com+1Fuel efficiency is quite respectable for a luxury compact SUV: 22 mpg city / 29 mpg highway (for the FWD model).Kbb.comHandling & Ride QualityThe Envisions front-wheel-drive setup means it feels relatively light and composed, especially in everyday driving.Suspension is fully independent: MacPherson struts in front and a 4-link rear setup.GM Authority+1With a curb weight of 3,755 lbs for the FWD Essence, its neither too heavy nor too light, giving a stable but not overly stiff ride.GM AuthorityThe turning diameter is fairly tight (about 36.4 ft), which helps with maneuverability in tight parking spaces.GM AuthorityInterior & ComfortThe Essence trim represents a strong mid-to-upper level, offering leather seating surfaces and nice finishings.Kbb.com+1Rear-seat passengers get heated outboard seats and rear climate control, which is a luxury touch thats not always standard on crossovers in this segment.Kbb.comTheres a heated steering wheel, memory settings for the front seats, and a well-laid-out center console.Kbb.comCargo volume is about 26.9 cubic feet with the rear seats upright, and it expands to 57.3 cu ft with them folded down.GM AuthorityThe fuel tank is roomy ( 17.3 gallons), giving a decent driving range for road trips.Auto Catalog ArchiveTechnology & FeaturesInfotainment-wise, it supports Buick 4G LTE with an available Wi-Fi hotspot, which is great for families or road-trippers.wardsmotorsports.comTheres an active noise cancellation system, which helps make highway driving quieter and more refined.wardsmotorsports.comSafety and convenience features in the Essence trim include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and more advanced driver assistance systems (depending on the package).Kbb.comDesign & StyleThe Envision has an elegant, premium look Buicks grille, sculpted body lines, and refined design language give it a luxury feel without being over the top.On the outside, the Essence FWD typically comes with 18-inch 10-spoke wheels in a polished finish, which adds a sophisticated touch.GM AuthorityInside, the cabin materials feel upscale soft touch points, leather seats, and well-designed trim make it feel more premium than many mainstream compact SUVs.Practicality & UsefulnessWith its combination of reasonable fuel economy, good cargo space, and a refined driving feel, the Envision Essence FWD is well-suited for daily driving, commuting, and small family trips. The seating for 5 is roomy enough for adults in both rows. Its also fairly reliable in terms of maintenance: fewer complex systems (no turbo, FWD instead of AWD) can mean potentially lower long-term costs. Why Its ExcitingLuxury Feel Without the Super-Turbo Price: You get a premium interior, leather, and tech without paying for a high-performance (and high-maintenance) turbo engine.Fuel Efficiency + Practical Power: The 2.5L engine gives good-enough power for highway driving, but its also frugal for a crossover of this class.Comfort-Oriented Design: Quiet cabin, comfortable seats, and thoughtful touches (heated steering wheel, rear climate) make it very pleasant for both drivers and passengers.Smart Technology: Built-in Wi-Fi, active noise cancellation, and safety features make it modern and capable.

So far, my favorite vehicle
By Annette | on Wednesday, September 11, 2019
My husband spent months researching various mid-sized suv/wagon vehicles to replace my 2006 Jetta TDI. I wanted something larger to accommodate my 120 pound dog but still frugal, comfortable and good in the winter. On a whim, we went to a local Buick dealer and after looking at several offerings, I decided to test drive a 2019 Envision. In less than 5 minutes I was sold! I purchased a new Envision with AWD, 2.5l engine and leather interior. I have now driven over 4,000 miles without a single hiccup or regret! The ride is firm and responsive, the dynamics and road manners are without reproach, and the economy averages 25+MPG combined on regular gas! I couldn't be more pleased!… - 5.0
Perfect for us

We looked for months for an affordable AWD vehicle that had the safety technology we wanted, had plenty of power and a smooth, quiet ride. Though Buick was never on our radar and we had never heard of the Envision, we test drove one and were hooked. We purchased an Envision Premium which had everything we weren't going to do without plus a Bose sound system that we really wanted. We love the power of the 2.0 turbo. Other vehicles may have better reviews from the "experts" but the best choice is always the one that fits a person's wants and needs. The Envision is perfect for us.… - 5.0
