Specs at a Glance

The Suburban is one of the most iconic and popular SUVs made by Chevrolet. It's also the company's largest SUV. In 2021, the Suburban is redesigned to add more space inside and out. It is now built with the same platform that you'll get with the Silverado 1500. The truck-like platform gives the Suburban an impressive amount of space for people and their belongings. The Suburban also has a cavernous cargo area that provides even more storage capacity than before. This year's Suburban comes in six trim levels with various features and amenities. If you are satisfied with a base trim, you can go with the LS, which has a nice list of features, including a 10-inch touchscreen interface and seating for eight. At the top of the line is the High Country, which has its engine and a panoramic sunroof, a second entertainment system, and a trailering package.

Performance

Performance characteristics for the Chevy Suburban vary based on whether you select the base trim level or the top trim. To start with, the LS trim is equipped with a 5.3L V8 engine. With the standard engine, the Suburban is capable of 355 HP in maximum power, and it cranks out a little more than 380 LB-FT of torque. A 10-speed transmission comes with the base engine. Four-wheel drive is optional for the LS. Two engines are available with the High Country. The trim comes with a 6.2L V8 engine that delivers 420 HP. It gets 460 LB-FT of torque. You can also get a 3.0L diesel engine with six cylinders. The diesel achieves 277 HP in top power and 460 LB-FT of torque. This engine is also available for the LS. The two trim levels can pull up to 8,300 pounds.

Appearance

The LS and High Country trims have some aesthetic differences to keep in mind. The LS rides on 17-inch wheels, while the High Country is equipped with 18-inch wheels with an aluminum finish. You can get tires up to 20 inches on the High Country. The High Country also has a unique bronze-accented grille.

Features

A 10.2-inch touchscreen interface is standard on the Chevrolet Suburban. The High Country also has a head-up display. A panoramic sunroof is standard with the High Country. The top trim level also adds a second entertainment system for the back row. The High Country has additional safety technology, including traffic adaptive cruise control.
