What's New For The 2019 Chevy Express?

This year, there are a few new features available for your Chevy Express. They're both high-tech driver aids, designed to keep you out of harm's way. Shoppers can now add lane departure warning, a system that can detect when you've accidentally strayed outside the proper white lines. There's also a new forward collision alert system. This optional technology warns you to slow down to avoid an accident.

2019 Express Trims & Features

The Express Passenger van is available with a long list of seating configurations, with accommodations for up to 12 passengers. In the Express Cargo, you'll find two front seats and, behind them, a huge cargo hold. The Express offers two load ratings - 2500 and 3500 - to accommodate shoppers' hauling needs. The 3500 offers an optional long-wheelbase body style for increased interior space. There are two Express trims, the LS and LT.

In the LS, you'll find all the comfort basics, from air conditioning to power windows and locks. The vinyl upholstery and floor coverings are easy to clean, making a great pick for commercial buyers who plan to haul cargo around town. The LS also comes standard with Chevy's OnStar emergency telematics system. Should you need help, OnStar offers roadside assistance and automatic emergency notification features. And, when you choose this van's 3500 weight rating, your Express will also include rear air conditioning.

The LT is a bit more stylish, with front and rear chrome bumpers. Inside, you'll find cloth upholstery and carpeted flooring to impress passenger clients. The LT also comes with remote locking and unlocking features to make it a little easier to get in and go. There's also an infotainment system that includes a 6.5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, and a handy USB port. This infotainment gear is also available as an option for the base LS trim.

There are quite a few standalone options, so buyers can really create the Express that suits their personal needs. These include a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, power-adjustable heated mirrors, power-adjustable front seats, and satellite radio. You can even add a little style to your ride, compliments of the leather-wrapped steering wheel.

2019 Chevrolet Express Horsepower

2019 Chevrolet Express Exterior FrontShoppers love the Express's massive towing and hauling capabilities. They also love that there are three engine options, making it easy to create the Chevy Express best suited to unique commercial needs.

The base engine is a 4.3-liter V6 rated for 276 horsepower and 298 pound-feet of torque. It works with an eight-speed automatic transmission to deliver a smooth, powerful performance. For a little extra power, check out the 6.0-liter V8. It makes 341 horses and 373 pound-feet of torque for the line's most powerful ride. There's also a diesel option for improved efficiency. The 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel engine generates 181 horses and 369 pound-feet of torque.

Chevrolet Express Safety

2019 Chevrolet Express Exterior RearThe Express has a lot to offer in terms of safety. For starters, every van configuration comes standard with OnStar telematics, a system that can send help after an unexpected breakdown or highway accident. The rearview mirror also comes in handy, expanding your view as you back out of a parking space or out of a blind driveway. The rear park assist feature is another good one, helping you ease this big van in and out of parking spaces without any paint-scraping incidents.
