Already a serious sports car, Chevy has taken the high-powered Camaro to even greater heights with the new 2018 Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE. Featuring a racing-based suspension and outstanding aerodynamic technologies, this two-door cruiser was built to conquer roads.
“The track-focused 1LE package offers progressive levels of performance across the Camaro lineup, from V6 1LE to the SS 1LE,” said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer. “But with the new ZL1 1LE, the progression takes a quantum leap – this is the ultimate track-day Camaro.”
Here are two top elements that have helped enhance the car's track performance:
Reduced weight: The vehicle’s dampers, wheels, glass and rear seat are lighter, giving the Camaro ZL1 1LE a 60 pound reduced curb weight than the standard ZL1 Coupe.
Improved dynamics: New dive planes, a carbon fiber rear wing and specific air deflectors help the car take turns faster.
The 2018 ZL1 1LE employs a 650-horsepower, supercharged LT4 motor that is backed by a smooth six-speed manual. It also comes with Brembo brakes, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated steering and a Bose premium audio system.
